(252 kms from Bangalore and 1525 m above sea level lies Madikeri, the district headquarters of Kodagu. Coorg or Kodagu(originally called Kodaimalenadu) means ‘dense forest on steep hill’. Dubbed as the Scotland of India.)

I went to Coorg with my roommates (Pravin, Pavan, Mohan, Prinso & myself) in Qualis. We started on 05-Oct-07(Friday) night at 11.00 PM from Bangalore. We reached Nagarahole National Park(Rajiv Gandhi National Park) at 4.00 AM itself. But this wiled life park visiting time only 6.00 AM to 6.00 PM. We are waited and entered in this park road. While traveling in this forest road we can see Dear, Mongoose, tiger, leopard, wild elephant, wild dog, and more. We started the safari(1.30 Hrs) at 8.00 AM in the forest. We seen elephant, dear, monkey, mongoose, . its one of the biggest forest in Karnataka and extended upto ynadu, Karala. After completion of the sfari we started travel towards Irupu Falls. It’s 40 km from this national park. You can see exciting greenish place in this travel.

Irupu falls: We reached Irupu Falls at 9.30 AM and took break(fresh) fast. This is very small beautiful waterfall. We took bath in this fall its exciting. Risky thing is it contains leech also. At 11.20 we started from Irupu falls and traveled towards Coorg. Its 150 km from Irupu falls.

Irupu Falls

Raja Seat: We reached Madikeri, the district headquarters of Coorg. We reached Raja Seat at 1.45 PM., We can see very beautiful view from this point. Its shows one of the madikery mountains view. We spend some time and started to Abbey Falls.dsc02180.JPG

Abbey falls is 9km from this place. We reached abbey falls at 2.30 PM, its one more small falls and it contains more dust water only. We can’t enter in the falls. We can see the fall from the bridge.

Cauvery Nisargadhama: We came back from this falls and took lunch at Madikery town. After lunch we started the travel towards Cauvery Nisargadhama, Kushal Nagar and reached at 5.30 PM.

Its’s one more place of cauvery. We can see the park(Deer Park, Rabit) and its contain Elephant Safari  also. Some of the months we can see the boating in this river. Currently boating activity & Elephant safari was closed. Nothing great in this place. So we started to Budha temple.

We completed the tour and started to Bangalore at 7.30 PM from Budha Golden Temple and reached Bangalore at 11.30 PM night. Really we visited more places compare with planed. Totally we traveled 850km in this round trip.

Some Suggestion: If you want spend more time, The pleas don’t go to Nagarahole National Park and Irupu Falls. So that directly you can go to Coorg and spend more time in every places including Thalai Kavery. Other then this even you can plan it for 2 days trip.

Fort – (We are NOT Went) The fort now contains a small museum having some historical paintings, arms, armours and possessions of the past rulers, the prison. The fort also contains a small palace.

Talakaveri – (We are NOT Went) River Kaveri which is one of the 7 sacred rivers of Sapta Sindhus of the Hindu scriptures, originated at a place is called Talakaveri in the Brahmagiri hills, at about 4,500 ft above sea level.

Muthathi(Around bangalore),
Cauvery River, Karnataka, India.

CLICK me to see all PHOTOS:

After very long time, I am going to trip in my new Royal Enfield Thunder Bird(Cruiser) bike. It’s new bike so I thought of going to some near place around Bangalore.

Rode Map from Bangalore: I have exited from JP Nagar(Bangalore) & entered in Kanakapura Road. In Kanakapura road I have traveled 50Km and reached Kanakapura. Still traveled (19 Km) in same road and reached Sathnur. Now I took left and traveled 19Km reached Muthathi Village. (88Km from JP Nagar, 118 Km from Marathalli)

Muthathi: we will enjoy the hill side ride after Sathnur(full of forest). Its good road and risky road also.  I reached cauvery river at muthathi village, I spend time in cauvery, there is not much entertainment other seeing river. This is not exiting or great place, but good place for one day Picnic. Its really exciting and wonderful trip for me.

Cauvery Fishing Resorts: you can see this resort, but we need to book it from Bangalore for this resort. Its good resort to stay day and night, so that they will take you for Rafting in River Cauvery, River Side Trek, etc. This will be the good entertainment instead of just going to Muthathi.

Breakfast: Better place to take breakfast is Kanakapura itself. if you cross this place we won’t get any hotels. But I took breakfast in Sathnur.

Lunch: we can get some food in muthathi in small hotels. Don’t expect good food.

Still if you travel in the same road, We can reach Mekedatu, Shivana Samudram, Talakadu also.(But I am not went in this road)
